"Echoes from the Baltic: Lecture and Recital"
Featuring the Miami University Latvian Choir conducted by Chris Walsh, senior music education major

The choir comprises 40 Miami students, primarily music majors, who have been rehearsing four pieces by the Latvian composers Peteris Butans, Eriks Esenvalds, and Imants Ramins.

Walsh will speak about his undergraduate summer scholars research. He traveled to Riga, Latvia for 3 weeks. While there, he observed chorus rehearsals and interviewed prominent composers and conductors with the goal of getting a sense of Latvia's choral culture and its transformation before, during, and after the Soviet Union.
