Lecture: Climate as a Problem of Fundamental Science

The Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar Program and the Department of Physics presents:

Christopher Essex
Professor of Applied Mathematics
University of Western Ontario

Christopher Essex is professor of applied mathematics at the University of Western Ontario and a former director of the University's Theoretical Physics Program. He is codiscoverer of the entropy production paradox, and his work on radiation thermodynamics was highlighted at the 2011 Joint European Thermodynamics Conference in Germany. Coauthor of the award-winning Taken by Storm: The Troubled Science, Policy, and Politics of Global Warming (Donner Prize), he serves on the governing board of the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
