The Hannaford Ensemble was formed in the summer of 2012 by seven members of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. The focus of the group is to explore the rich and varied repertoire for mixed ensembles of strings and winds. The Ensemble takes its name from Cincinnati based architect Samuel Hannaford (1835-1911), who designed many of the city's well known landmarks, including Music Hall, the home of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
