A Taste of Soul: The Black Diaspora Experience
Although the term SOUL FOOD dates to the 1960s the roots of SOUL FOOD can be traced back to Africa as can the Black Diapsora--the scattering of people of African descent and the sowing of their cultures globally. As they moved, adapted and transformed, new origins took root and the cycles continued... Dishes are passed down through the generations that provide not only sustenance but also emotional nourshment. Come and join us for "A Taste of Soul" celebrated with dance, music and vendors.
