Jazz Ensemble and Chamber Singers, OMEA Preview Concert

Miami University music ensembles, the Jazz Ensemble, directed by Jeremy Long and the Chamber Singers, directed by William Bausano a preview of their performance for the annual Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Professional Development Conference to be held Feb. 7-9 in Columbus, Ohio.

The Jazz Ensemble will feature music by jazz greats Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Thad Jones, and Grammy-winner Bob Mintzer. The Chamber Singers will feature repertoire from their recent winter tour and Carnegie Hall performance to include sacred works representing style periods from the 17th-20 century including works from Poland, Germany, and England. The program will also feature three opera choruses, Brindisi from "La Traviata" by Guiseppe Verdi, Pilgrim's Chorus from "The Three Hermits" by Stephen Paulus, and Make our Garden Grow from "Candide" by Leonard Bernstein.
